Arts in the Park - Every Sunday 11am - 5pm (1st June - 13th July 2014)!
Relax and take in the view across the water at Bath Road Avenue Recreation grounds every Sunday this summer! There will be great music from the historic bandstand, arts and craft stalls, local artisans, face painting, tea coffee and homemade cakes. What better way to spend your Sundays?
Lymington Seawater Baths - Open every day
Dating back to 1833, the Lymington Baths are the oldest open sea water baths in the UK! As well as swimming and sunbathing, you can also (at an extra charge) use the inflatable water toys, kayaks, stand up paddleboards, water zorbs, radio controlled racing yachts, and climb a 7 metre climbing tower!
Round the Island Race - 21st June
This year's round the Island Race takes place on the Summer Solstice, so enjoy the longest day of summer watching around 1,700 yachts battling to be the first around the Island. You can enjoy great views from the sea wall in Lymington, or take the Lymington ferry to Yarmouth and soak up the atmosphere from there.
St Barbe Museum 15th Annual Open Art Exhibition - 21st June - 19th July
The best of the regions paintings, drawings and sculptures will be showcased this summer at the St Barbe Museum. The exhibition is open with regards to subject and style, and the works are selected by a panel of professional artists. Definitely not to be missed!
Milford-on-sea Open Gardens - 29th June
12 or more private gardens will be open for the public to explore on 29th June. Advance tickets are just £5 and all proceeds go to charity.
Festibelly - 11-12th July
Festibelly is Lymington's very own home-grown music festival. The 2 day event takes place in at field at Undershore (a short walk from all the comforts of Britannia House) and involves live music, DJ's, singers, performers, poets, artists and nice big loud speakers! This year's headliners are Hudson Taylor, The Cuban Brothers and David Rodigan, but will also be music from much loved local bands such as Cannon Street Armada.
Lymington Arts Festival - 10th-12th July
A weekend to celebrate the wealth of local talent and creativity the area has to offer. From music to art, performance to textiles, there is something for everyone! Events taking place in various venues across Lymington. Brochures are available now!
Curious Arts Festival - 18th-20th July
Expect an unusual array of events across the weekend from the literary to the commercial as well as a range of other curious happenings including: daily breakfast clubs with journalists and a broadcaster, a cartoon club for kids, magic, DJ sets, a film tent, ghost stories, immersive theatre, delicious pop–up restaurants and live gigs every night. A brand new event for Lymington!
Lymington & Pennington Carnival 2014 - 20th July
Always a great procession and a good vibe in the pubs and restaurants afterwards.
New Forest & Hampshire County Show - 29th-31st July
This famous event started in 1921 and is now one of the top Agricultural and Equestrian Shows in the UK. Every year the show provides thousands of visitors with a fun, educational, and cultural day out. There are live demonstrations and events going on every day, from ferret racing to falconry displays, not to mention the main ring attractions. A great day out for all the family which is highly recommended!
Summer Spectacular and Car Show - 3rd August
Organised by the Lymington Rotary Club, Lymington's Summer Spectacular is always a great day out! Among the attractions are a parade of vintage cars and motorbikes, a car boot sale, bouncy castles, coconut shy's and a children's entertainer. Another great event that is just on our doorstep.
Cowes Week - 2nd-9th August
Starting in 1826, Cowes Week is the longest running sailing regatta of its kind in the world and plays a key part in the British sporting summer calendar. Cowes Week stages up to 40 daily races for around 1,000 boats and is a mixture of competitive sailing and socialising. You don’t have to be taking part in any races to enjoy this famous sporting week. Over 10,000 spectators come to not only watch the sailing but also enjoy the social side of the week with exclusive parties, live entertainment and the unique atmosphere. You get a great view of the action from here in Lymington!
