Lymington’s vibrant High Street and stunning coastline are just on the doorstep of Britannia House, making it the perfect base to explore from!

With plenty of things to see and do locally, there is also a packed calendar of special events taking place nearby this summer. From foodies and festival-goers, to car enthusiasts and creatives, there is something for everyone…

 

Lymington Charter Market - Every Saturday

Since 1250, Lymington’s High Street has played host to a bustling market; selling everything from plants and food to antiques and clothes. Enjoy ambling through the town to pick up a bargain, and sample the best in local produce. 8am -4pm (weather dependant)

Calling All Time Travellers! - 29th May – 4th June

Step back in time at Beaulieu Motor Museum to meet monks in the Abbey & sneak a peak at what life was like in the old Victorian Palace House + get your imagination fired up designing cars of the future this May Half Term!

Old Gaffers Festival – 2nd – 4th June

Our location couldn’t be more convenient to head over to the Isle of Wight and celebrate Yarmouth’s lively Old Gaffers Festival! With this year’s theme of ‘All Things Maritime’, watch gaff-rigged boats race and enjoy a great selection of shopping and entertainment (with plenty to eat and drink too)!

New Forest Arts Festival – 10th – 25th June

Meet, make and discover as the New Forest celebrates all things creative this summer. The Arts Festival invites you to exhibitions, workshops and talks from all over the Forest; including some unusual locations such as a roman villa, ancient ship yard, arboretum and even a beach hut!

Bournemouth Food Festival 16th – 25th June

Now in its seventh year, this food heaven promises to get your taste buds going! With 10 days of festivities to enjoy, there will be a great selection of street food and local produce to buy and sample +  brush-up on your cooking skills from many demo kitchen workshops taking place.

Round the Island Race – 1st July

The annual Round the Island Race attracts over 1,700 boats and 16,000 sailors, making it one of the largest yacht races in the world! Cheer the teams on and enjoy the action out on the water, or pick a spot along Lymington’s Sea Wall (just a short stroll from us)!

Located by the famous River Avon, this summer celebration guarantees a great day out for all. Many visitors travel the South Coast in classic or vintage cars to join in the fun, but however you get there, you will be sure to enjoy a full day of things to see and do!

Join in, or cheer on, the biggest charity swim in Europe! Raising money for the British Heart Foundation, sign up to swim the 1.4 mile open water stretch from Boscombe to Bournemouth Pier.
