EXPLORE
Lymington & The Local Area
Historic Lymington is a colourful coastal town with a rich maritime history. It enjoys a unique position on the edge of The New Forest National Park and is great for coastal or forest walks. The town is frequently listed in the top 5 places to live in Hampshire and boasts a wide range of pubs, restaurants, independent shops and three marinas. There are many nearby attractions and historic landmarks to explore and with the Wighhtlink ferry terminal nearby it is the gateway to the Isle of Wight.
Tobi’s Food & Drink Favourites
I do HIGHLY recommend making reservations for these places prior to your stay because they are very popular. All three places are within easy walking distance from Britannia House.
It doesn’t get better than that.
My top three favourites I can fully recommend without any hesitation.
Most creative cooking and fabulous wine list
The Highstreet Kitchen (2 mins walk)
The Highstreet Kitchen offers a relaxed dining experience focusing primarily on local sustainable food, working with dedicated local farmers and producers.
68 High Street, Lymington, SO41 9AL
thehighstreetkitchen.co.uk
Note: Bookings Advised. The restaurant has been a dream for Gavin Barnes for over a decade and it has now become a shared vision for the whole team.
Best atmosphere, great food
King’s Head Pub (2 mins walk)
A wonderful cozy pub with candle light and a proper log fire. Super portion, good selection of beer and nice wines.
Quay Hill, Lymington, SO41 3AR

Note: The cosy small Courtyard is now fully non-smoking, clean and tidy and has been painted in a beautiful marine blue. Due to the new safety measures, the bar area is “free” making it even more pleasant to go there.
Super location, great view
The Haven
The location of the Haven Bar & Restaurant is fantastic overlooking the Yachthaven Marina, the Solent and Isle-of-Wight.
King’s Saltern Road, Lymington, SO41 3QD
Tel: 01590 679 971

Note: The Haven has the most wonderful view and simply superb food. I booked myself in for several dates in the summer. Personally I prefer lunch there – because of its great location.
Pubs & Restaurants
Lymington and the surrounding area has numerous pubs and restaurants. Most are in easy walking distance of Britannia House. Others are a bit further away, but most certainly worth considering. And for those who want to enjoy one (or two) glasses of wine, there is always a local taxi available. The following pubs & restaurants are all within walking distance. Now, how good is that!
